The ransomware group Rhysida has released limited data supporting its claim of a successful cyber attack on Insomniac Games, known for its popular Spider-Man games and an in-development Wolverine title. The leaked data includes an annotated screenshot from the upcoming Wolverine game, along with character art potentially related to other Marvel characters featured in the game.
Additionally, the leak comprises personal documents, such as passport scans of Insomniac employees, including a former employee now at Disney, and documents linked to Yuri Lowenthal, the voice actor for Peter Parker in the latest Spider-Man game. The breach also includes internal emails and confidential signed documents.
Rhysida has set a seven-day deadline for Insomniac Games to respond, after which they threaten to publish the entire data set. Concurrently, the group has initiated an auction for the data, with a starting bid of 50 bitcoins, equivalent to just over $2 million USD. The statement on Rhysida’s leak site emphasizes the exclusivity and uniqueness of the data, assuring potential buyers that the data will be sold to a single entity without the possibility of reselling.
